Travel Information

With Porto as a reference, and using a car, Amarante is only 40 minutes away via the A4 motorway.

Alternatively, there’s the EN15 national road, but although it’s toll-free, the journey is longer and more difficult.

The access exits to the city are: Amarante West // São Lázaro and Santa Luzia or Amarante East // São Gonçalo.

If you are using public transportation, you can consult Rodonorte, Valpi, Transdev, and Internorte. If you are coming by train, the journey is made on the Douro Line (from São Bento or Campanhã) to Livração, where the route to Amarante must be completed by car.

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, located in Porto, is the closest air connection to the city.
